Basketball Game Preview: Booker Tornadoes vs. Sarasota Sailors

The Booker Tornadoes and the Sarasota Sailors will face off at 10:00 a.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Booker saw some tournament action on Thursday. They rang in the new year with a 68-60 victory over Venice.

Booker relied on the efforts of Brianna Behn, who went 7 for 11 on her way to 14 points in addition to eight boards and six assists, and Kennedy Guy, who posted 17 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Yvette Brown, who had eight points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Sarasota strolled past Freedom with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 55-41. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sailors.

Booker's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Sarasota, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.

Booker took their win against Sarasota when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 78-53. Will Booker repeat their success, or does Sarasota have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
