Garritt Romero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on nine hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Dawson is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Dawson's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Maddox Botas, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Botas is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another was Mason Walls, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

With the defeat, Pasadena Memorial broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Dawson, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
