Strom Thurmond never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Batesburg-Leesville Panthers 12-0. The victory continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won seven in a row.

Madison Rodrigues made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Grant, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Lawsyn Lowe was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Strom Thurmond kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Strom Thurmond's record is now 7-2. As for Batesburg-Leesville, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1-1.

As for Batesburg-Leesville, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Batesburg-Leesville Panthers duke it out with Ninety Six Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. They have given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
