Newark Memorial hasn't had much luck against James Logan recently, but that could start to change  on Thursday. The Cougars will challenge the Colts at 4:00  p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
James Logan will  square off against  a team with plenty of momentum: Newark Memorial extended their winning streak to six on Tuesday. The Cougars put the hurt on Mission San Jose with a sharp  18-1 victory.
 Caitlyn Rose was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Rose was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-4 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 In other pitching news,  Ariana Romo looked comfortable as she  struck out six batters over  two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

 Back at the plate,  Mahlyah Sao was  incredible,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with four  runs, two  triples,  and four  RBI. Those  two  triples gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alyvia Costa, who  went 2-for-3 with three  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base.
 Newark Memorial  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters  in six consecutive  games.
Meanwhile,  after only two  runs in their last  matchup, James Logan made sure to put some  runs up on the board against Moreau Catholic  on Tuesday. The Colts were the clear victors by  an  11-1 margin over the Mariners. The Colts haven't had any issues with the Mariners recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive  win against them.
 The team  relied heavily on  Nevaeh Hall-Flores, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.  Selena Gonzales also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  triple of the season.
 Newark Memorial pushed their record up to 12-4 with the  victory, which was their fourth straight  at home. Those  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for James Logan, their record is now 13-4-1.
Thursday's   contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Newark Memorial has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .473. However, it's not like James Logan struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .451. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Newark Memorial couldn't quite get it done against James Logan in their previous matchup  on April 1st as they fell  7-2. Can the Cougars avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
