Volleyball Recap: St. David's Comes Up Short

St. David was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Cary Christian Knights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

St. David's took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-2, 25-9, 25-22.

Grimsley McNairy paced St. David's offense, picking up six kills. McNairy got some help from Maria Borges and her five assists.

St. David's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Cary Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

St. David's has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Arendell Parrott Academy on the 28th. As for Cary Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Varsity Opponent on the 28th.
