Volleyball Recap: Clairemont Chieftains vs. St. Augustine Saints
After flying high against Olympian last Tuesday, Clairemont came back down to earth. Clairemont fell 3-1 to the St. Augustine Saints on Friday. If the Chieftains were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Saints when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
While Clairemont ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21.
Clairemont has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-5 record this season. St. Augustine pushed their record up to 11-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clairemont will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on El Cajon Valley at 6:00 p.m. on April 7. As for St. Augustine, they will venture away from home to face off against Francis Parker at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
