Baseball Game Preview: Burrell Bucs vs. Ligonier Valley Rams

For the second straight game, Burrell will face off against Ligonier Valley. The Bucs will be playing at home against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Burrell's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Ligonier Valley has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.

Burrell is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Ligonier Valley on Monday. They fell just short of the Rams by a score of 3-2.

Stephen Hasson was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero).

At the plate, Brayden Mell was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. Brady Valovchik also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Burrell's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Ligonier Valley, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-6.
