Softball Recap: Devils Lake Takes a Loss

Devils Lake blew Grand Forks Central out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Grand Forks Central got their revenge. The Firebirds fell just short of the Knights by a score of 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Firebirds have suffered since April 10th.

Ava Beck was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with three runs and one RBI. Madison Harris was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Devils Lake has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. Grand Forks Central's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Devils Lake will take on rival Red River at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Grand Forks Central is set to challenge their familiar foe Sheyenne at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
