Volleyball Recap: Valdez Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Valdez and Nikiski squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Valdez had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. The Buccaneers haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Valdez took Nikiski into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-15, 25-21, 20-25, 15-13.

Valdez's defeat dropped their record down to 46-13-1. As for Nikiski, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 42-13-6 record this season.

Valdez does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nikiski, they will head out to take on Kenai Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
