Basketball Recap: Tottenville Comes Up Short

If Tottenville was riding high fresh off their 72-13 takedown of Health Profession last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tottenville Pirates came up short against the Holy Cross Knights on Saturday, falling 85-62. The Pirates were down 64-40 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

It was another big night for Mona Okorie, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds for Holy Cross. Okorie has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jeeanna Pierantoni, who posted 21 points and eight boards.

Tottenville's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Holy Cross, their victory bumped their record up to 5-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tottenville will square off against Wagner at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Holy Cross, they will take on Archbishop Molloy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
