Baseball Recap: Mt. Vernon Wins Going Away Against Fort Madison

Mt. Vernon had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Fort Madison on Friday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Bloodhounds with a sharp 12-2 win.

Mt. Vernon's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Fort Madison, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Vernon will venture away from home to face off against Linn-Mar at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fort Madison, they will head out to challenge Assumption at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
