Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Johnstown-Monroe

Johnstown-Monroe put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Thomas Worthington CARDINALS as the Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies made off with a 17-4 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Johnnies also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2018.

Riley Stefanick made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Stefanick was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addy Zak, who fired off four doubles, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Those four doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abigail Wood, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one stolen base.

Johnstown-Monroe's win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Johnstown-Monroe will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Philo at 5:30 p.m. on March 28th. Thomas Worthington will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Hilliard Davidson at 5:15 p.m. on March 27th.
