MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa - Marshalltown (Iowa) put up 14 points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 45-23 victory over Des Moines East (Des Moines, Iowa).

The Bobcats were up 24-14 at the half after taking the lead on a field goal by Blake Gimbel in the first quarter.

Marshalltown saw its 10-point halftime lead fall to eight entering the fourth.

MHS's standout player in the win was Gimbel. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns and kicked one field goal and six extra points. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.

The defeat comes as a step back for Des Moines East, which notched a 49-7 victory over Roosevelt in its previous outing. The win was a nice bounce back for the Bobcats, which lost to Dowling last week, 46-9. The loss snapped the Scarlets' 2-game winning streak.
