Football Recap: Washington-Wilkes Takes Down Seminole County in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Washington-Wilkes had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the Seminole County Indians by a score of 32-23. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Washington-Wilkes found their leader in freshman Mayson Mingle, who threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 85 yards and one score. Mingle's passing game has become a key predictor of the Tigers' success: the team is 4-2 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dre'Vioun Davis, who gained 99 total yards.

Washington-Wilkes' victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Seminole County, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2.
