Soccer Game Preview: Granite Bay vs. Davis Sr.

The Granite Bay Grizzlies are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Davis Sr. Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Granite Bay is looking to pick up the season's first win, something they couldn't quite do against Oak Ridge on Thursday. Both finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw.

Granite Bay's goal came courtesy of Giovanni Galu, which was the first he's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Davis Sr. put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They skirted past Folsom 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Blue Devils were the better team in the second half.

With that draw, Granite Bay's record moves to 0-1-1. As for Davis Sr., their win bumped their record up to 3-0-2.

Everything went Granite Bay's way against Davis Sr. in their previous matchup back in December of 2019, as Granite Bay made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Granite Bay since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
