Volleyball Recap: Aptos Takes a Loss

Aptos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Leigh Longhorns. If the Mariners were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Longhorns when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leigh found their leader in sophomore Eric Wu, who had six assists and five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Wu.

Aptos' defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Leigh, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 10-0.

Looking ahead, Aptos will challenge Harbor at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leigh, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Monterey on the 28th.
