Softball Recap: Mt. Diablo Red Devils vs. Las Lomas Knights
Mt. Diablo had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 4-17 to make it five. They came up short against the Las Lomas Knights, falling 11-0. Considering the last time the Red Devils couldn't score was back in April, the team can't take the result too hard.
As for Las Lomas, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.
For Las Lomas' part, Lexie Kou was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs and one double. That's the most runs Kou has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Paige Bamford, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Looking ahead, Mt. Diablo will take on Campolindo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.79 runs per game on average), something the Red Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Las Lomas, they will welcome Berean Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least ten runs in their last eight contests.
