Softball Recap: Clay's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Clay came tearing into Thursday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Alexander Spartans as they made off with a 17-3 win. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 11-4 victory the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2018.

Clay's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Alexander, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.

Coming up, Clay will take on Whiteoak in a tournament on Wednesday. The Panthers are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak. Alexander has already played their next matchup (against River Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
