Softball Recap: Make It 22 in a Row for Tomball

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Tomball walked away with it. They beat the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs on Saturday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-2. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Regina Amaya looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Fabi Marcano, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

The victory was the 22nd in a row for Tomball, bringing their record up to 29-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Copperas Cove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 24-15-1.

Tomball has already played their next contest (against Forney), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Copperas Cove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
