It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Stanley-Boyd ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the McDonell Central Macks 6-5. While the Orioles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Caitlen Ketterhagen spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Bailey Sikora, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Stanley-Boyd's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 9-3. As for McDonell Central, they dropped their record down to 4-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Stanley-Boyd will venture away from home to challenge Durand-Arkansaw at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McDonell Central, they will welcome Cadott at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
