Portsmouth Christian Academy hadn't done well against Mascenic Regional recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Eagles won by a set and slipped past the Vikings 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since October 4, 2024.

Portsmouth Christian Academy was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-14, 21-25, 25-4, 15-8.

Caroline Braman paced Portsmouth Christian Academy's offense, picking up 19 kills. Braman got some help from Lexi Jordan and her 41 assists. Marion Spurr controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Portsmouth Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. As for Mascenic Regional, their defeat ended an eight-match streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-3.

Coincidentally, Portsmouth Christian Academy and Mascenic Regional will both be playing Inter-Lakes the next time they take the court. The Eagles will head out to face the Lakers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Vikings will play them later in the day, at 4:45 p.m.
