Baseball Game Preview: Mathews Blue Devils vs. Lancaster Red Devils

The Mathews Blue Devils will head out on the road to take on the Lancaster Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Mathews' offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northumberland on Thursday. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, while Lancaster put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Middlesex. The Red Devils came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won six in a row.

Lancaster's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brooks Parker, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Mathews came up short against Lancaster when the teams last played back in March of 2025, falling 6-2. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
