Lake Highland Prep fell victim to Trinity Prep and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saints. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Lake Highland Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reilly Diebel, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy challenged Merritt Island Christian on Tuesday. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy walked away with an 8-3 victory over Merritt Island Christian. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.
Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy also got a great performance from Seth Monteleon as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Monteleon has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Brody DelBoccio was incredible, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 3-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Roman Carlson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Lake Highland Prep's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, their record now sits at 5-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lake Highland Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
