Northeast Jones waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Forest Bearcats get on the board and left with a 22-0 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by ten runs or more this season.
Caroline Myrick made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Kylinn Vice was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI, four runs, and one triple. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Hannah Harrison was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
Northeast Jones hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive games.
Northeast Jones' record now sits at 14-3-1. As for Forest, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
Coming up, Northeast Jones will face off against Seminary at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Forest, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Forest Bearcats face off against Meridian Wildcats at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
