Volleyball Recap: St. Benedict at Auburndale's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but St. Benedict at Auburndale unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 3-1 to the St. George's Gryphons. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Gryphons from their previous meeting back in August of 2023.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-12, 17-25, 25-19.

Ashlyn Underwood paced St. Benedict at Auburndale's offense, picking up eight kills. Underwood really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 11. Morgan Miller and Ashley Price kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with five aces apiece.

St. Benedict at Auburndale now has a losing record of 7-8. As for St. George's, they moved to 11-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, St. Benedict at Auburndale will face off against First Assembly Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. George's, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Oakland on the 19th.
