Recap: Calhoun County Saints vs. Lake Marion Gators
On Saturday, Calhoun County was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-40 to the Gators. Calhoun County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Calhoun County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cassidy Pough, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Pough hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for six straight games. Raniya Tyler was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Teonna Allen continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Lake Marion, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Allen pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rayleigh Davis, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
Calhoun County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Lake Marion, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calhoun County will take on the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Marion, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Landsharks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oceanside Collegiate Academy is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
