Basketball Recap: East New York Family Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

East New York Family Academy extended their postseason success on Saturday against Tottenville. They strolled past the Tottenville Pirates with points to spare, taking the game 55-39. The victory was familiar territory for East New York Family Academy, who have now won three matches in a row.

East New York Family Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Arianna Mercado, who shot 47% from the field en route to 22 points. Mercado's evening made it 19 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Eugene, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

East New York Family Academy's victory bumped their record up to 21-9. As for Tottenville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

East New York Family Academy will face off against South Shore at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Shore knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully East New York Family Academy likes a good challenge. Tottenville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
