Baseball Game Preview: Central Jaguars vs. Monroe Academy Volunteers

The Central Jaguars are taking a road trip to take on the Monroe Academy Volunteers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.

Central is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Aletheia Christian Academy just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 4-3. The game marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Quincy Wilson and Bryce Bowers stepped up to the plate in a big way. Wilson scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Bowers went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Bowers a new career-high.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Monroe Academy was a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They lost 10-2 to Snook Christian Academy.

Having lost for the first time this season, Central fell to 7-1. As for Monroe Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything went Central's way against Monroe Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Central made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
