Volleyball Recap: Valdez Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Chugiak

Valdez faced Chugiak in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Buccaneers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. The Buccaneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Valdez's loss dropped their record down to 40-11-1. As for Chugiak, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-12-1 record this season.

Valdez does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chugiak, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Dimond on the 25th.
