Pine Forest was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in 6A District 1. The Eagles beat Tate 39-0 earlier in the week.
Washington moved up to 191 from 227 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats were able to make the jump by beating the Wildcats 27-3.
Washington's dynamic duo of Clay Hinton and Michael Thomas proved tough for Pace to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hinton threw for 124 yards and Thomas had 60 yards receiving. Javan Williams helped Washington's passing attack out by catching one ball for 25 yards.
Trebian Suggs was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 188 yards on 14 carries as Pine Forest fell to the Patriots. James Mayberry also contributed to the rushing game with 121 yards on the ground.
The Wildcats' Hinton and Thomas have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 6A District 1 in both passing and receiving yards. Hinton has thrown for 499 yards this season, while Thomas, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 11 catches for 192 yards. Suggs from Jerry Pollard's team leads the league in rushing with 501 yards.
The Eagles led the league in scoring this week after putting up 39 points on the Aggies. Suggs caught three passes for 25 yards in the win.
