Volleyball Recap: Northwestern Trojans vs. Rock Hill Bearcats

Northwestern extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-12. They came up short against the Rock Hill Bearcats, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Northwestern's loss came despite strong showings from Jurnee Rainey and Player #4. Rainey had eight digs and two aces, while Player #4 had five digs and two assists. Laila Dumcan also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

As for Rock Hill, their victory ended a five-match drought on the road and puts them at 11-14. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 30th (when they won 3-0).

Emma Paat was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 19 digs and six assists. Those six assists gave her a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Northwestern will square off against Indian Land at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rock Hill, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against South Pointe on the 13th.
