Volleyball Recap: Northwestern Trojans vs. Rock Hill Bearcats

Northwestern had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 5-12 to make it four. They lost 3-0 to the Rock Hill Bearcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bearcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Hannah Conwell paced Northwestern's offense, picking up eight kills. Conwell got some help from Piper Faile and her 15 assists. Jurnee Rainey controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

As for Rock Hill, their win ended a five-match drought on the road and puts them at 11-14. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 30th (when they won 3-0).

Rock Hill found their leader in sophomore Emma Paat, who had 26 digs and six assists. Susanna Ahl also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Looking ahead, Northwestern will venture away from home to take on Indian Land at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rock Hill, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against South Pointe on the 13th.
