Basketball Recap: Palmyra Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Palmyra took on Canton on Friday. The Panthers fell 54-46 to the Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Tigers are ranked 93rd).

Palmyra dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Canton, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

While Palmyra had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
