Citrus Valley waltzed into their match on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Cajon Cowboys by a score of 5-2. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 7-1 victory on Tuesday.

Jake Clark looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jacob Cook, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. Nathan Stamper was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Citrus Valley's win bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Cajon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Citrus Valley will square off against Redlands East Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Blackhawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cajon, they will challenge Yucaipa at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Thunderbirds' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Cowboys' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
