Basketball Recap: Second Baptist Takes Down Saint Mary's Hall in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and Second Baptist had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 56-49 victory over the Saint Mary's Hall Barons on Tuesday. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Barons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Second Baptist found their leader in sophomore Eloise Tackett, who went 5-for-12 on her way to 21 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. The contest was Tackett's sixth in a row with at least 17 points. Grace Wehring was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Second Baptist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Second Baptist's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. As for Saint Mary's Hall, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.

Coming up, Second Baptist will take on Legacy Prep Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Legacy Prep Christian Academy will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Second Baptist surely won't give up without a fight. Saint Mary's Hall does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
