Baseball Recap: Tri-County Takes a Loss

Tri-County has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.33 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carroll Cougars. That makes it the first time this season the Cavaliers have let down their home crowd.

Grayson Schneider and Tyler Burns did some serious damage despite the final result: Schneider went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Burns went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Arvin, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Tri-County suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 9-3. As for Carroll, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.

Looking ahead, Tri-County will be playing in front of their home fans against Twin Lakes at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cavaliers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Indians have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Carroll, they will square off against Eastern at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Comets have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
