Softball Game Preview: Manteno Panthers vs. Streator Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Manteno will face off against Streator. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Manteno has four straight victories, Streator has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Monday, Manteno was able to grind out a solid win over Streator, taking the game 12-7.

For Streator's part, Makenna Ondrey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and ten unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up seven Ks. Ondrey has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mya Zavada made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-3. Madyson Wahl also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Manteno's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Streator, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.
