Volleyball Recap: New Holstein Huskies vs. Roncalli Jets

New Holstein was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roncalli Jets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on Thursday.

The 3-1 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 27-25, 23-25, 25-23.

Makenna Bink paced New Holstein's offense, picking up eight kills. Bink got some help from Makayla Meyer and her 11 assists. Finally, Kayah Jaeger kept New Holstein's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Erin Panosh was a one-woman wrecking crew For Roncalli. as she had 20 digs and five aces. Panosh has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 12 times she's played.

New Holstein's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Roncalli, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.

Looking ahead, New Holstein will face off against Wrightstown at 10:00 a.m. on the 20th. As for Roncalli, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Hilbert on the 13th.
