Softball Recap: Bloomington North Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bloomington North hadn't done well against Terre Haute South Vigo recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cougars walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Braves. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won three contests in a row.

Kendyl Feutz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Feutz was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Feutz wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Keylee Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Taylor has posted since back in April of 2024. Kinsley Stanley also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Bloomington North pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Terre Haute South Vigo, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Bloomington North wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-7 defeat against Martinsville on the 18th. As for Terre Haute South Vigo, they have also already played their next matchup, a 7-6 loss against Sullivan on the 18th.
