Basketball Recap: Florida College Academy Comes Up Short

Florida College Academy lost against Families Instructing Students HomeSchool back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Florida College Academy Falcons took a 32-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Families Instructing Students HomeSchool Hawks. The contest marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Willow Mullins was Florida College Academy's leading scorer, having posted 12 points. April Latta held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

Melody Lee continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. Lee has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Julianna Lamon, who posted six points and eight boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Florida College Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

As for Families Instructing Students HomeSchool, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 48-29 loss against Gulf Coast HEAT on the 17th.
