Soccer Game Preview: Portal vs. Dooly County

The Portal Panthers will take on the Dooly County Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Portal is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Brooks County 3-2. Winning may never get old, but Portal sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Colby Stewart and Maggie Brannen scored all three of Portal's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 55 goals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dooly County, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They never let Southwest Georgia STEM Charter get on the board and left with a 1-0 win on Tuesday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Dooly County were the better team in the second half.

Dooly County pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those six matchups. As for Portal, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
