It was a good run, but Surry County unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 12-1 to the Hopewell Blue Devils.

Surry County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dalton Pierce, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run. Pierce is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.

Surry County's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Hopewell, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Surry County will square off against Brunswick at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hopewell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Colonial Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
