Basketball Recap: Norfolk Takes a Loss

Norfolk was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They had to suffer through a 91-35 loss at the hands of the Papillion-LaVista South Titans. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-12.

When it comes to explaining why Norfolk lost, don't look at Drew Streich. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points and five boards. That was a full 45.7% of Norfolk's points, marking the third time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Papillion-LaVista South got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Levi Webb out in front who went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points. Webb's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Alderson, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 15 points.

Norfolk's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Papillion-LaVista South, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Norfolk will challenge Millard South at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Millard South is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.4 points per game this season. As for Papillion-LaVista South, they will take on Bellevue East at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday.
