Preview: Marshall vs. Cambridge
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Cambridge. On Friday they take on Marshall at 7:00 PM. Cambridge are coming into the contest hot, having won seven in a row.
The crowd came for a game last Friday, and Cambridge and Belleville sure delivered. It was a match that couldn't have wound up any closer, but Cambridge snuck past Belleville for the 14-13 win. No one put up better numbers for Cambridge than senior Riley Olson, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 151 yards and 2 touchdowns. Olson has now scored at least one touchdown in the past 3 games.
Meanwhile, Marshall were able to grind out a solid victory over Waterloo, winning 21-13. The success made it back-to-back wins for Marshall.
Cambridge had enough points to win and then some against Marshall the last time the two teams met, taking their game 34-19. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cambridge since the team won't have home-field advantage. Watch the game and check back on MaxPreps to see if the change in venue makes a difference.
