Baseball Recap: Fowlerville Comes Up Short

Fowlerville extended their losing streak to five on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 7-14 in the process. They fell 8-4 to the Charlotte Orioles. That's two games in a row now that the Gladiators have lost by exactly four runs.

Griffin Brodersen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Charlotte, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-8. That's two games straight that they have won by exactly four runs.

On Charlotte's side, Ty Bowzer made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Bowzer has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Charlotte: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Karter Jackson was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fowlerville will welcome Holt at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Charlotte, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Portland at 4:00 p.m.
