Football Game Preview: Monroe Dragons vs. Waldport Irish

The Monroe Dragons will head out on the road to challenge the Waldport Irish at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Monroe will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

Monroe took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Central Linn 30-6. The Dragons' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Waldport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Myrtle Point and fell 74-0. Irish fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Bobcats since Friday.

Monroe's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Waldport, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Monroe was taken down by Waldport 52-25 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
