Baseball Recap: Valley View Victorious

After only one run in their last contest, Valley View made sure to put some runs up on the board against Madison on Tuesday. The Spartans came out on top against the Mohawks by a score of 10-6. Considering the Spartans' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Austin Johnson was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Wyatt Burkett was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory got Valley View back to even at 12-12. As for Madison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Valley View will square off against Wyoming at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cowboys will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Madison, they will challenge Carlisle at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
