Softball Recap: Groton-Dunstable Crusaders vs. Fitchburg Blue Raiders
There's no place like home for Groton-Dunstable, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Fitchburg Blue Raiders on Wednesday. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Blue Raiders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Kaitlin Haggerty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Groton-Dunstable's victory bumped their record up to 4-9-1. As for Fitchburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Groton-Dunstable will venture away from home to face off against Algonquin Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fitchburg, they will head out to take on St. Bernard's Central Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
