Baseball Recap: University Starts off Right with Win over Pacifica Christian

University took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Pacifica Christian Tritons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since April 3, 2024.

University got a great performance from Andrew Shean as he pitched 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits.

On the hitting side, University's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Dowd, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, Dowd also posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Luke Emrich was another, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Looking ahead, University will face off against Century at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Pacifica Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Los Altos at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
