Baseball Recap: Valencia Takes a Loss

Valencia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 8-2 to the Hart Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in March.

Valencia got a good showing from Justin Gaisford, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, Gaisford gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Kyle Josing made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Valencia's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Hart, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valencia will venture away from home to square off against Notre Dame (SO) at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Hart, they will head out to take on Castaic at 3:30 p.m. on the 15th.
